ROYAL NOVA SCOTIA YACHT SQUADRON, Halifax, Canada to host 2026 Optimist North American Championship
The IODA Executive Committee is pleased to announce that Halifax, Canada has been selected to host the 2026 Optimist North American Championship. The championship will take place from May 21 – 28 at the Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron (RNSYS).
IODA Congratulates Greek Optimist Sailor Nikolaos Pappas on Winning the 2025 Kuehne+Nagel Young World Sailor of the Year
The International Optimist Dinghy Association (IODA) proudly congratulates Nikolaos Pappas, age 13, on being named the 2025 Kuehne+Nagel Young World Sailor of the Year. In a landmark moment for Optimist sailing, Pappas earned the distinction following his gold medal victory at the 2025 Optimist World Championship in Slovenia—his first-ever international regatta.
