Notice of Race published for the 2026 Optimist Asian & Oceanian Championship!

We are delighted to announce that the Notice of Race for the 2026 Optimist Asian & Oceanian Championship has now been published and you can see it here: https://2026asianoceanians.optiworld.org/en/default/races/race

The 2026 Championship marks a welcome return of IODA competition to Sri Lanka, which last hosted the Optimist Asian & Oceanian Championship in 2016 at Trincomalee. Sri Lanka offers a truly memorable sailing experience. Surrounded by the warm waters of the Indian Ocean, the island is renowned for its stunning coastline, reliable sea breezes, vibrant culture, and warm hospitality. From golden beaches and tropical landscapes to delicious cuisine and rich history, Sri Lanka provides an exceptional setting for both world-class racing and an unforgettable family adventure.

This year we are looking forward to returning to Sri Lanka during December 12 – 19 but this time the event will be hosted in Colombo. Colombo is Sri Lanka's principal port city and one of the major maritime hubs of the Indian Ocean. Its port has been an important stop for traders and sailors for more than 2,000 years due to Sri Lanka's strategic position along the sea routes linking East Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Europe.

The Notice of Race contains important information regarding eligibility, entry procedures, schedules, accommodation, and event logistics. All teams, sailors, coaches, and parents are encouraged to review it carefully.
