2025 Class Rules and IODA Championship Handbook Now Available

Class Rules

The Class Rule changes proposed and approved by members at the 2024 AGM in Mar del Plata (ARG) have now been officially approved by World Sailing.

As the governing body of the sport, World Sailing must review and authorize any Class Rule changes before they take effect. This process has been completed, and the 2025 Optimist Class Rules are now published and in force.

You can find the updated Class Rules on the IODA website [here]. All modifications and new rules in the 2025 edition are highlighted in red.

Handbook

The 2025 Edition of the IODA Handbook is now available online.

Updated annually based on proposals submitted before the AGM, the Handbook reflects all changes approved at the 2024 AGM, which are also marked in red.

As a key reference document for the Optimist Class, we encourage all members to download it for future use. The Handbook is also accessible on the IODA website [here] for easy reference.
