Oriol Costabella has taken the lead in the overall standings after a full day of racing, with three races. Second and third place overall are for Spanish sailors Iker Múgica and Joan Domingo.

With the inclusion of a discard after four races, there was an interesting shuffle in the standings, with the initial leader, Sweden's Oscar Wetter, who came undefeated, plummeting to 33rd place overall, effectively ruling him out of contention for the win.

Meanwhile, Costabella, with two first-places and one second place, discarded an eleventh-place and will start as the leader of the Gold Fleet on Saturday. One point behind him is one of the top contenders, Iker Múgica, who achieved the same results as Costabella.

Third place is held by another Spanish sailor, Joan Domingo, who briefly held the provisional lead after the third race but ended the day in third overall with two third places and one second-place, trailing by six points from the lead, keeping the competition wide open. Following closely behind with their eyes on the podium are Polish sailor Maurycy Kosmoswki, Swiss sailor Elvinn Lofterod, Dutch sailor Maurits Melens, and European bronze medalist from Spain Mateo Carbonell, with just four points difference among them.

The NE Gregal wind persisted throughout the day with intensities between 12-17 knots and waves reaching 1-2 meters in height.

Tomorrow, the event enters the final series with the fleet divided into five groups: Gold, Silver, Bronze, Emerald, and Pearl, with only those in the Gold Fleet eligible to win the International Vila de Palamós Optimist Trophy.
