9th Optimist Cup-Nikos Sarikavazis Trophy
Record of participation with 255 sailors from Greece, Turkey, Malta and Bulgaria
With the participation record-number of 255 young sailors from 32 clubs from Greece, Turkey, Malta and Bulgaria, aged between 9-15 years, the "9th Optimist Cup - Nikos Sarikavazis Trophy" organized by the Nautical Club of Paleo Faliro concluded on Sunday February 18.
The event was hosted between 16-18 February in the waters of the Saronic Gulf and received excellent marks both for the performance of the future Olympians at sea and at organizational level. The Piraeus Sailing Club was on the top of the championship, winning 2 medals, while Jason Panagopoulos (N.C. Kalamakiou) was declared top sailor of the event.
