10th Ciudad de El Puerto Regatta - Optimist Excellence Cup Trophy

The 10th El Puerto City Regatta, Excellence Cup Trophy, held in Cadiz, Spain, concluded with Catalan sailor Iker Múgica as the overall champion. Other winners included Valencian sailors Marta Ferrando and Conor Woods, Portuguese sailors Guilherme Magalhaes and María Do Mar Costa, and Balearic sailor Inés Rodado. The regatta faced challenging wind conditions, with only one day and three races determining the champions due to previous days' lack of wind.

Múgica, representing CN de Cambrils, secured the Andalusian round of the Excellence Cup Trophy with two 1st and one 3rd place, breaking a tie with Joan Domingo. The overall podium and Sub 16 male category also featured Andalusians Felipe Pachón and Daniel Barrios. Among the girls, Marta Ferrando claimed victory. In the Sub 13 male category, Guilherme Magalhaes led a Portuguese sweep, while Balearic sailor Inés Rodado dominated the Sub 13 female category.

The trophy ceremony took place at CN Puerto Sherry's new facilities, attended by local authorities and the Commodore and the Manager of the Club Náutico Puerto Sherry. Despite minimal wind, the 10th edition of the El Puerto City Regatta showcased excellent organization and a vibrant atmosphere, reinforcing Club Náutico Puerto Sherry's reputation as a prestigious organizer in the national and regional sailing calendar.

The event was organized by the Club Náutico Puerto Sherry, in collaboration with the Real Federación Española de Vela (RFEV), the Consejo Superior de Deportes and the Excellence Cup (AECIO), with the sponsorship of Marina Puerto Santa Maria (Puerto Sherry), the Junta de Andalucía and the Diputación de Cádiz, and the support of the Federación Andaluza de Vela (FAV), the Ayuntamiento de El Puerto de Santa María, the Autoridad Portuaria Bahía de Cádiz, ABD Consultoría y Soluciones Informáticas and Carex Logistic, highlighting the significance of this annual sailing competition.
