Women's Coaches Clinic - Thailand

The inaugural women's clinic of the Optimus Coach Development Program has concluded with great success at the Royal Varuna Yacht Club in Pattaya, THA. Sixteen participants from nine different countries came together under the expert guidance of Nopakao Poonpat, the 2010 Optimist World Champion and an experienced coach.

During the three-day clinic, participants engaged in a comprehensive curriculum designed to enhance their coaching capabilities. The course covered essential topics such as coaching philosophy, safety on and off the water, effective teaching strategies, and the technical aspects of sailing, including boat handling, tactics, and race preparation. The program emphasized making the learning process enjoyable while ensuring that both coaches and sailors are well-prepared and safe.

Spored by IODA as part of the Optimus Development Program for Coaches, this clinic represents a significant step forward in the Program's mission to grow the sport by developing a globally respected workforce of coaches with an established and consistent curriculum
