Racing Day 2 in San Juan (PUR)

Last Day of Qualifying Series

Constant winds of 14 knots, gusting up to 20 knots from the east, created an ideal setting for the second day of fleet racing at OPTINAMS 2024 in the picturesque waters of San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Starting at 12 noon, 180 dedicated sailors completed the two races scheduled for today, demonstrating exceptional skills and determination.

The championship is currently led by Inés MÉNDEZ-LARMINAUX from Puerto Rico, followed closely by Brazilians Pedro KOCH and Marcos SOARES. Pedro is only one point behind Inés, making the competition extremely tight.

The Final Series, where the fleet will be divided into Gold, Silver, and Bronze groups, will resume on Thursday. Tomorrow, the fleet racing championship will take a break to make way for the Team Racing Championship, with 16 teams aligned at the starting line. This completely different format emphasizes team effort over individual skills and tactics.
