2024 European Championship - Day Four

Marina di Carrara, Italy

At the conclusion of the five qualifying races, the fleets were defined last night for access to the final series, which started this morning at Marina di Carrara.

The sailors launched at 11:30 and began racing around 13:00.

Three races were completed for each fleet, bringing the total to eight races since the start of the Championship.

The top competitors in the Gold Fleet are as follows:

Boys:

  1. Manuel Bragança (BRA)
  2. Iason Panagopoulos, reigning European Champion
  3. Mehmet Erkut Budak (TUR)

Girls:

  1. Anna Merlo (ITA)
  2. Olha Lubianka (UKR)
  3. Vita Erceg (CRO)

The light winds on the race course ranged from 6 to 10 knots, accompanied by a long wave.

Day Four was complex due to the highly variable winds, making the course challenging for the sailors. Marina di Carrara is known for its technical and demanding race conditions, having trained many famous sailors.

A pasta party and music awaited the sailors when they returned ashore.

The next races are scheduled for tomorrow, at the end of which the winners will be announced.

The Prize-Giving Ceremony will take place tomorrow at the Club Nautico Marina di Carrara, on the stage in front of the IODA flag.
