World Ocean's Day 2022 - Help Protect our Playground!

Today marks the United Nations World Oceans Day 2022!   

Optimist sailors are the future guardians of the sea and planet and the marine environment is our playground.

Collectively, we can all be Trash Heroes and clean up the garbage that ends up on our beaches! We encourage you all to help and make a difference. 

As sailors, it is important to learn more about sustainability and how to keep our water resources clean.   Download the IODA Branded World Sailing Sustainability Education Program that was created in partnership with the World Sailing Trust and the 11th Hour Racing. The Optimist images were generously provided by Matias Capizzano. It is a six part program consisting of a booklet, teacher's guide, and worksheet. A perfect activity for rainy days and no sailing!
