Semana do Atlântico 2019 – VI Troféu Cidade de Viana do Castelo

This weekend the participation of around 180 athletes from 27 teams of 7 countries guaranteed the success of the VI Viana do Castelo Trophy - Optimist International Meeting. Over three days of races, 7 river races and 12 sea races were held with the participation of athletes from Portugal, Spain, Latvia, Ireland, Estonia, South Africa and India.


In group A, boys, the 1st place was won by Francisco Uva Sancho, from CN Cascais. Teresa Quartin, from CV Tejo, won 1st place for the girls. In group B, boys, the first place went to Vasco Soares, from CV Barreiro, and athlete Madalena Wanzeller, from the same club, won for the girls. In group C, boys, first place on the podium to Nuno Simão, by C. Náutico de Tavira, and Leonor Lopes, from the same club, won for the girls.


The VI Viana do Castelo City Trophy was held at the Viana City Regatta Field in an Atlantic Week event organized by the Viana do Castelo Sailing Club, with the support of the Portuguese Sailing Federation, Regional Sailing Association do Norte, Portuguese Association of the International Optimist Class (APCIO) and the City Council of Viana do Castelo.


The Trophy City of Viana do Castelo is organized together with the International Meeting City of Vigo, hosted by the Royal Club Náutico de Vigo with the support and collaboration of Real Federación Española, Federación Gallega de Vela and Asociaciones Española and Gallega of Optimist Class, scoring both for the Optimist Atlantic Week Trophy - Viana do Castelo (Portugal) / Vigo (Spain).
