What is RSS?

RSS is a notification system used to alert subscribers to changes made to their favorite web sites, blogs, music sites, etc. Feeds are a way for websites large and small to distribute their content well beyond just visitors using browsers. Feeds permit subscription to regular updates, delivered automatically via a web portal, news reader, or in some cases good old email.

An RSS feed is a text-based headline with a link, and usually a short summary. If you’re interested in reading the whole article, just click on the RSS feed link

How Do I Read the Feed?

If you don't have an RSS feed reader you may have noticed that when you click on one of the typical RSS buttons, you just get a squirrelly looking page of code. That’s because you need an RSS feed reader to make it work. Today, there are more than 2,000 different feed reading applications, also known as "news aggregators" (for text, mostly) or "podcatchers" (for podcasts). There are even readers that work exclusively on mobile devices.

A search for "Feed reader" or "Feed aggregator" at popular search sites will yield many results.

So, all you have to do is download one of the many feed readers available and subscribe to our feed with the path indicated above.

FACEBOOK

Created in December last year, the purpose of the page is to promote the activities of the Optimist sailing community, not only with information from IODA itself but also with reports from our members and sailors.

Posts include comments and links to news articles published on our website, links to championships advertised in our calendar and, during the IODA events, daily (or more frequent) reports about the relevant event.

So, bookmark the following link, and don't forget to become our fan!! :)
