Three days of exciting sailing in Angola
The Angolan Sailing National Championship 2013, sponsored by NetOne and co-organized by the Angolan Federation of Nautical Sports (FADEN) and the Clube Naval de Luanda (CNL), took place in Luanda Bay during 29, 30 and 31st of March, with wonderful race conditions. With over 100 athletes in the water, with both race officers, club directors and coaches very active supporting their teams and the organization. Sailors representing 4 Clubs from Luanda (Clube Naval de Luanda, Clube Náutico da Ilha de Luanda, Petro Atlético de Luanda and Clube Desportivo Primeiro de Agosto) and 1 Club from Cabinda (north of Angola) showed clearly why they already dream with international opportunities and titles.
Official final results, after 12 races on 470, 420 and Laser classes and one less for Optimists, are showing a great level of competition, with Clube Naval de Luanda winning 6 of the competing titles (6 first, 5 second and 3 third) and Clube Náutico da Ilha de Luanda winning one title (1 first, 1 second and 3 thirds).
The Angola 2013 national Optimist sailing champions are:
Optimist (M) – António Joana (Clube Naval de Luanda)
Optimist (F) – Paula Paulo (Clube Náutico da Ilha de Luanda)
