Championship Highlights

European Team Racing Championship — Istanbul Yacht Club, Türkiye (18–23 Aug 2025)
 

Hosted by the Istanbul Yacht Club with support from the Turkish Sailing Federation, the event welcomed nine national teams that had qualified through the fleet Europeans. The venue delivered its reliable summer breeze and strong logistical capacity once again.

 

European Championship (Fleet) — Çeşme, İzmir, Türkiye (28 May–4 Jun 2025)
 

With 256 sailors from 43 countries, the championship opened with a well-attended ceremony and featured consistent, lighter breezes throughout the week. The event received praise for efficient race management and shore-side coordination. Turkey topped the nations ranking, offering excellent sailing conditions and warm hospitality.

World Championship — Portorož, Slovenia (28 Jun–5 Jul 2025)
 

Hosted by JK Pirat Portorož and the Slovenian Sailing Federation, the Worlds brought together 287 sailors from 69 nations. The Adriatic delivered mostly light to moderate conditions, enabling a full racing schedule. Teams noted smooth measurement, efficient logistics, and a professional race committee. Each afternoon, lively hosts welcomed sailors with music and entertainment. World titles went to Nikolaos Pappas (GRE) and Olha Lubianska (UKR).

 

African Championship — Dar es Salaam, Tanzania (2–8 Aug 2025)


Organized with the Tanzania Sailing Association at the Dar es Salaam Yacht Club, the championship welcomed more than 15 countries, highlighting continued momentum across the continent. Several emerging teams took part, supported by ongoing development initiatives and coaching assistance. Consistent breeze, dedicated volunteers, and a welcoming local atmosphere contributed to a successful event.

 

South American Championship — Salinas, Ecuador (6–13 Sep 2025)
 

Hosted by the Salinas Yacht Club, the championship brought together 179 sailors from 14 nations. Moderate Pacific conditions allowed the full racing program to run smoothly. Strong local organization, volunteer support, and collaboration with the Ecuadorian Sailing Federation reinforced regional development and cooperation among MNAs. Participants also enjoyed the sight of humpback whales in a beautiful natural setting.

 

Asian & Oceanian Championship — Mussanah, Oman (25 Oct–1 Nov 2025)
 

Held at the Mussanah Oman Sail Headquarters, the championship attracted 175 sailors from 26 countries. Oman was an unforgettable venue with extraordinary hosts.  Great conditions and fabulous organization brought a great week of sailing to Oman Sail’s Mussanah base at Barceló Mussanah Resort.
