Optimist Worlds 2017

On their second attempt, the Royal Varuna Yacht Club, Thailand, were successful in winning the bid for the 2017 Optimist World Championship. Sixty-two countries voted to decide which of five bids should be accepted for 2017. Congratulations to Thailand and also a big thank you to the other four bids all of which were impressive and equally worthy of hosting the Optimist Worlds.

South American Championship: Enarnacion, Paraguay 22 April to 1 May

European Championship: Yacht Club Port Bourgas, Bulgaria 30 Jult to 6 August

European Team Racing Championship: Lago di Ledro, Italy end of August

African Championship: Alexandria, Egypt 1 to 9 July

Asian & Oceanian Championship: Hong Kong 29 September to 7 October
