More fun at OptiOrange 2019 March in Valencia. Entries open

The new OptiOrange regatta is happy to call for entries for the new season to be held by St.Petersburg YC and RCNV in Valencia March 7-11, 2019. The new regatta is focused solely on kids, communication, fun and trainig.

The inaugural OptiOrange was held successfully in March 2018 in sunny Valencia that is famous for its perfect sailing conditions. Overall more than 60 entries from Russia and Spain were competing and this year the organizers are expecting more countries and teams to join.

Commodore of St.Petersburg YC Vladimir Liubomirov: “Naturally in our Northern city we have very limited ability to train during winter time. Actually we have more less 4 months a year when we can train on our waters. Other time we always look for any chance to train and with support from RCNV we decided to establish a fun and competitive Optimist regatta open for all. And you know that Spain is famous with oranges, so why not treat our kids with some?”

Indeed OptiOrange is full of oranges and the regatta is accessible for all. With entry fee as low as 100 Euros per entry (early bird) and meals provided by organizing committee, it is difficult to find better opportunity to meet strong competitors and test your skills before the season opening.

The timing of the event is perfect. Besides this is the start of the season, right at the regatta time there is famous fire festival in Valencia – Las Fallas that will be interesting to witness for both kids and adults. Also, a free visit to The Aquarium at the City of the Arts is included in the entry fee.

For the new season SPBYC is going to make the venue event more fun and interesting. Before and during the regatta famous coach Pieter Van den Bossche will be available to assist and conduct clinics for competitors. Founder of 8 Days a Week coaching team, Pieter managed to succeed as a coach of the Optimist class with many trophies won by his trainees.
