IODA to Launch Mobile App

Over the past two years IODA has successfully introduced microsites across all seven IODA Championships.    This has enabled us to bring consistency to how our events are managed and how information is shared and communicated.  Our microsites have enabled us to reach over 2.2 Million people since they were introduced.

In order to bring Optimist sailing to an even greater number of people globally, IODA will be introducing a Mobile App for three championships this year. Now you will be able to follow the action from your smart phone and /or tablet in addition to looking at the microsite on your laptop or desktop computer.  Tracking will be integrated into the App, so that you can watch the races live from your smart phone.

Other features of the App include viewing results, checking out items on the notice board, seeking out daily news items as well as viewing daily photos and videos.  More importantly, teams will be able to receive information by way of notifications for such issues as protests, rule 42 and scoring inquiries to name just a few.

The App will be made available for free through the Apple Store and Google Play Store.
