The Yacht Club Egypt (Alexandria) (YCE) is the largest and oldest private Yacht Club in Middle East. The Club's youth sailing program is conveniently located at Eastern Harbor bay, with sheltered conditions and the easy access to open sea. Youth classes include Beginner and Advanced Racing levels. Yacht Club Egypt club-owned fleet includes: (15) Optimists, (6) Lasers (6) Dragon, in addition to a number of privately owned boats as well as a 50hp outboard, a Zodiac assist boat. The Club is seeking a Head Instructor for Dinghy Sailing (Laser &optimist), who will work with two or three college-aged instructors from our program.

The program activity caters to 30-40 participants, with sailors ranging from 12 - 23 years of age, as well as the occasional adult who may want to participate in dinghy sailing. The successful candidate will manage and administer all facets of the club sailing program. The program runs from the first week in July through to the end of August from 11:00 -17:00 All week long. Additional time involved in the role will be required for regattas (dinghies and keelboats), mid-summer training camp, and occasional instruction / coaching for individual adult Sailing clinics and other club related responsibilities as and when required. Some travel is necessary for regattas and training camps; any costs incurred in carrying out these duties will be reimbursed. The program's objectives are: seamanship, being competitive, having fun and encouraging students to learn and grow in the sport of sailing.

 A small group of advanced racing sailors will be participating in a week-long session. While the full-time program starts beginning of June, candidates able to start as soon as beginning of May are strongly encouraged to apply to allow for pre-season coaching, summer program planning and fleet setup.

Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

* Be responsible for and participate in all phases of the club program including administration, recruitment, maintenance and inventory of fleet and gear, supervision of 2-3 other instructors and planning and preparation for regatta events

* Assisting with marketing strategy, registration, selected pre & post-season communications * Accountability for the care and upkeep of the club sailboat fleet, with the need to be able to perform minor maintenance at times (as well as supervise the rest of the team to do the same)

* Communication with parents / guardians and regatta volunteers Job Requirements: * Minimum US Level 2 / RYA Advanced Instructor or equivalent, with US Level 3 / RYA Senior Instructor (or equivalent) being preferred.

* US Safe Boating / RYA Safety Boat certificate * Current 'up-to-date' First Aid Certificate This role is a senior position, with the candidates being required to provide evidence of 3+ years Coaching Experience in youth sailing related activities. Applicants with solid personal racing experience and strong leadership skills are also encouraged to apply. In addition, prior Youth Sailing Program administrative experience is desired.

The salary package available is dependent on experience, starting at 3000 EURO. The successful candidate has the choice of working for the club and paying taxes on earnings in Egypt as an 'employee' of the club, or being hired as an external 'contractor' with the individual then being responsible for declaring income from the work to the authorities of his/her home nation, on which the relevant taxes would then be payable.
