Myanmar National Championship hosts Asian & Oceanian Site Visit

The 2018 Myanmar National Optimist Sailing Championship is taking place March 20 to 26^th at the Ngwe Saung Yacht Club & Report, Ngwe Sang Beach, Myanmar, the same venue as the 2018 Asian and Oceanian Championships taking place later in the year from November 10 to 17^th.

IODA VP Africa, Asia and Oceania, Nuno Gomes and Regatta Committee Member and PRO, Ilker Bayindir, are undertaking a site visit to this beautiful venue during the event.  They will meet with the organizers and will review the planning details of the upcoming 2018 Asian and Oceanian Championship.

This event although smaller in size of the IODA event, it has a similar schedule and will provide a window into how the Asians and Oceanians will operate.  Ilker Bayinder will review the on-water race management team and the equipment, while Nuno Gomes will review the onshore requirements such as accommodation, launching, boat storage and other onshore facility requirements.   Most importantly they are in attendance to help out the organizers in any way that they can.
