Our measurers have spotted some arrangements to attach the daggerboard to the hull that are not class legal.

We would like to draw the attention of measurers, coaches and sailors to the fact that the systems shown in the photos to grab or to attach the daggerboard to the boat are NOT class legal.

Class Rule (CR) 3.3.4 states:

The daggerboard shall float, and shall be attached to the boat. One hole may be drilled through the daggerboard and the battens in any place. Its diameter shall not exceed 10mm. An elastic cord or lanyard may be used to attach the daggerboard to the hull. A small shackle or closed plastic hook may be used to attach the cord or lanyard, either to the hull or to the daggerboard.

It is clear that the daggerboard can have only one hole appart from those for the metal bolts indicated in CR 3.3.2.4.
