The second in a row OptiOrange Valencia regatta, organized by the Sailing Academy of Saint Petersburg Yacht Club and Real Club Nautico de Valencia will take place March 7-11, 2019 on the basis of Valencia Training Center.

The mascot of the competitions will be again a small orange fruit named Naranjito, which all the young sportsmen already know and love. Over 150 sportsmen from the European countries are expected to participate in the competitions this year. Sportsmen from Russia, Spain, Italy, the UK, Belgium, Ireland, Bermuda and Caiman Islands have already applied. The applications by Portugal, Greece and Serbia are being processed. In addition to that, the organizers are expecting sportsmen from Poland, Estonia, Finland, Denmark, and Sweden.

The regatta coincides with the famous Valencian Fire Holiday  LAS FALLAS and the International Women’s Day, which is so beloved in our country. So, if you haven’t decided how to congratulate the mother of a young sportsman, it is a great opportunity to combine the useful with the pleasant! Submit your application to info@optiorange.com till March 3.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION! There will be a clinic and regatta coaching before the competitions for all those interested. It will organized by the famous Belgic expert Pieter Van Den Bossche – Head Coach and founder of 8 Days a Week Company (http://8daysaweek.be/coach/pieter-van-den-bossche/). One of his students took the first place at the European Championship in Optimist class among girls in 2017.

Pieter has shared his expectations about the upcoming clinic with us: “I am looking forward to March! Valencia is a great place to train early in Spring, when it is still too cold almost everywhere in Europe. I am convinced that the organizers will make every effort to ensure the highest level of the competitions. And we, in our turn, will help racers get familiar with the unknown water area and prepare for the races in the best way.”

The duration of the clinic and regatta coaching will be 3 days – March 5-7. The students will focus on yachting in the sea, technical details, and specific features of the local water area.
