Notice to Members - 2018 Europeans

The 2018 Optimist European Championship is taking place in Sheveningen, in the Netherlands this coming June around the time of the finish of the Volvo Ocean Race (VOR).  We are so fortunate to have our event take place alongside the VOR.  It will be fantastic for the sailors to see these incredible boats and to meet the sailors who have just finsihed racing around the world. 

However, it has been brought to the attention of IODA, that the finish of the VOR is in conflict with the first racing day of our championship. As a result, the IODA Executive Committee have approved a one day change in the schedule of the 2018 European Championship by moving the event one day forward from June 22 to 29th to June 23rd to June 30th.  

Due to the change in the dates, the NOR is delayed, but is forthcoming in the near future.  The registation dates originally in the bid document will be adjusted accordingly as well. 

So keep a look out on the IODA website for any announcements on when the 2018 European Championship NOR will be posted and when the Online Registration will open.  

The 2018 European Championship Microsite is live, so check it out at http://2018europeans.optiworld.org.  Information on the event venue and the accommodation will be also be posted in the near future.
