BIDS FOR EVENTS IN 2013

October 31st was the deadline for returning bids to apply as hosts for the IODA events in 2013.

Here we publish the venues and dates proposed by each candidate to host the IODA Worlds and Continentals in 2013. Country representatives will be able make a thorough evaluation of each bid during the Worlds in New Zealand. Presentations for the World Championships will be given on the afternoon of January 5th 2012. For the Continental Championships, the presentations will be made during the relevant Continental meeting - details of provisional meeting times can be found on the IODA website: http://www.optiworld.org/documents/2011AGMprogramme.pdf

• Riva del Garda, ITALY - July 17 to 28 - Fraglia Vela Riva
• Santa Monica Bay, USA - July 25 to August 5 - California Yacht Club

EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS:

• Balatonföldvár, HUNGARY - July 6 to 14 - Spartacus Sailing Club
• Lahti, FINLAND - August 1 to 9 - Lahti Yacht Club (LPS)

ASIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS:

• Karachi, PAKISTAN - June 20 to 30 - DA Marina Club
• Hayama, JAPAN - July 20 to 28
• Hong Kong, HONG KONG - December 27 to January 4, 2014 - Royal HK Yacht Club

AFRICAN CHAMPIONSHIPS:

• Maputo Bay, MOZAMBIQUE - August 23 to September 1 - Clube Marítimo de Desportos
• Algiers, ALGERIA - August 28 to September 6 - Algiers (Alger Plage)
• Langebaan, SOUTH AFRICA - End of August - Mykonos Resort
