Asian Optimist Team Racing Championship 2003

Following a first round of matches which saw the elimination of three teams, the competition moved to direct elimination as follows:

India "A"

v Malaysia

    Malaysia

v Japan    
Japan      

In the semi-finals Singapore outclassed India "A" and Malaysia dominated their race against Japan. In the final Singapore showed their tactical supremacy on the waters of Mumbai Harbour and totally outsailed the Malaysians to retained their position as Team Champions.

In the petit finale for the bronze the hosts India "A" sailed a well planned and tactical race to beat Japan and win the bronze medal for the first time in an Optimist Asian event.
