Africans - Final Results
Ahmed Ragab of the host nation was unable to match a storming last day's 3/2/1 by visiting Swiss sailor Alexandre Massard but had the satisfaction of retaining his closed African title ahead of South Africa's Ashwynn Daniels and Timothy Manley.

Among the girls Mariem Zribi of Tunisia recovered from a poor third day to take African gold just behind Couvert Dewi (NED). Earlier Algeria had beated Egypt in the Team Racing Championship.

Twelve good races were sailed, the team-racing completed and seven of the eight African countries participating got at least one sailor in the top half of the fleet (we were delighted to see the exception, Zimbabwe, represented at all).

Mauritius have offered to host the 2008 championship (there will be no event in 2007 due to the All-Africa Games).
